초록

In this study, green mango (Mangifera indica L.) kernels were extracted with hot water (GMD) and 70% ethanol (GME). The antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects were verified to confirm the applicability as natural materials. The electron donating ability and 2,2-azino-bis (3-ethylbenzothia-zoline-6-sulfonic acid) scavenging activity were measured, and both extracts increased in a concentration-dependent manner. The concentration range of 95% or more in RAW 264.7 cells was set through the 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide assay and the experiment was then conducted. As a result of measuring the nitric oxide inhibition, GMD and GME showed inhibitory effects of 70.59% and 86.49% at 100 μg/ml concentration when compared to the lipopolysaccharide (LPS) alone treatment group. Measuring the protein expression of inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) and cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) at a concentration of 100 μg/ml, iNOS was inhibited by 27.07% and 12.04% of GMD and GME, respectively, and COX-2 was inhibited by 31.38% and 10.44% of GMD and GME, respectively, when compared to the LPS alone treatment group. As such, it was confirmed that the green mango kernel has both antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities and thus, has the potential to be used as a natural material.
