『御製增訂淸文鑑』의 만주어 한자 주음 연구―三合切音의 원리 및 체계 분석을 중심으로―

『御製增訂淸文鑑』에서 본격적으로 도입된 三合切音은 최대 세 개의 한자를 조합하여 만주어 음절의 소리를 나타낸 주음 방식이다. 삼합절음은 讀若, 直音, 反切 등 기존의 주음 방식을 계승하면서도, 음절 구조에 따라 글자의 배열을 달리하거나 분절음의 특성을 고려하여 글자를 선택하는 등 만주어 음절을 더 세밀하게 표기하기 위한 장치를 마련하였다. 『어제증정청문감』에서는 「三合漢字十二字頭」를 통해 정연하고 체계적인 삼합절음 표기의 원칙을 제시하였다. 그러나 실제 주음 표기에서는 이러한 음절대응의 원칙에 어긋나는 양상도 일부 발견된다. 삼합절음은 만주어 음절의 복잡한 양상을 온전하게 담아내지는 못하였지만, 한자 주음의 역사에서 가장 발달한 주음 방식이었다는 점에서, 그리고 기존 주음 방식의 전통을 계승하고 한계를 극복하고자 하였다는 점에서 그 가치를 엿볼 수 있다.
Abstract
Sanheqieyin is a sinographic notation method that represents Manchu syllables by combining at most three graphs. While sanheqieyin inherits the tradition of sinographic notation methods including duruo, zhiyin, and fanqie. it sets up devices for notating Manchu syllables in more detail such as changing the arrangement of graphs according to syllable structures and selecting graphs with regard to characteristics of Manchu segments. In Yuzhi Zengding Qingwenjian, the principle of applying sanheqieyin to Manchu syllables is provided systemically by sanhe hanzi shierzitou. Though it fails to entirely represent complex aspects of Manchu syllables, the significance of sanheqieyin can be seen in that it is the most advanced method in the history of sinographic notation methods, and that it tries to overcome the limitations of traditional sinographic notation methods.
