최근의 도덕교육은 ‘지식과 실천’에 있어서의 괴리감이 커지고 있다. 즉, ‘알고는 있지만 실천하지는 못한다’는 근본 문제를 일정 부분 해결해 줄 수 있는 대안이 필요한 시점이다. 본 연구는그 대안 이론으로 최근 조직학습, 일터학습의 영역에서 각광 받고 있는 실천공동체(Communities of Practice)의 기본 관점이 도덕교육에 주는 함의가 무엇인지를 밝히고자 하였다. 이를 위해 실천공동체(CoP) 이론을 학습이론의 관점에서 채택하였다. 실천공동체는 공동의 주제와 목적을 가진 사람들이 자발적으로 모여 상호 신뢰를 바탕으로 해당 주제 영역의 지식과 기술을 체화하고,체득된 결과를 공유․실천함으로써 지식을 창출하는 집단 공동체를 말한다. 실천공동체에서는 지식이나 앎이 중요한 문제이지만, 그것은 어디까지나 구성원들이 함께 공존하면서 의미를 공유하고, 정체성을 형성하며, 하나의 인격체로 성장해 나가는 과정을 기반으로 해서 나오는 부차적 산물이라는 점을 강조한다. 그런 측면에서 실천공동체는 도덕교육적 함의를 지닌다고 볼 수 있다. 본 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위해서 실천공동체의 이론적 배경을 이론적 관점과 생태주의 교육이론 패러다임 차원에서 논의하였다. 그런 후, 실천공동체의 개념과 영역(domain), 실천(practice),공동체(community) 등 세 가지 구성 요소를 검토 하였다. 이러한 논의를 통하여 학습자 측면, 교수자 측면, 학습 설계의 세 가지 측면에서 실천공동체가 도덕교육에 주는 시사점을 밝히고자 하였다.
Abstract
It is time recent moral education needed an alternative to solve the issue, "Knowledge does not lead to practice." This study set out to select communities of practice as an alternative theory from the perspective of learning theories and investigate their implications for moral education. So this study choose communities of practice's theory as a point of view learning-theories. Communities of practice have implications for moral education in that they value knowledge and knowing as important matters and, at the same time, emphasize them as secondary products of a process of the members co-existing, sharing meanings, building identity, and growing as a personality. The study discussed the theoretical backgrounds of communities of practices and reviewed their meanings to fulfill those objectives, trying to offer some implications of communities of practice for moral education in three aspect.
