본 연구의 목적은 Dorothy Heathcote의 D.I.E.(Drama In Education)를 활용한 교육연극 프로그램이 초등학생의 창의적 리더십에 미치는 효과를 살펴보는 것이다. 서울 S 초등학교 5학년 1개 학급을 선정하여, 80분 블록 타임으로 총 7차시로 구성된 교육연극 프로그램을 구안, 시행하였다. 프로그램 사전, 사후에 시행한 동형의 창의적 리더십 검사의 개인별 총점을 구한 후 평균과 표준편차를 산출하여 대응표본 t 검정 방법으로 결과를 분석하였다. 참여자 인터뷰, 프로그램 활동지, 참여자 성찰 일지, 연구자 연구일지를 활용하여, 정성적인 연구대상의 상호작용 기술 및 정량적 자료에 나타나지 않는 참여자의 내적 반응을 살펴보았다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 창의적 리더십 향상을 위해서는 참여자의 관심과 흥미를 고려한 극적인 문제 상황을 제시해야 한다. 둘째, D.I.E.를 활용한 교육연극 프로그램은 초등학생의 창의적 리더십 향상에 유의미한 효과가 있다. 연구 결과를 종합하면 참여자는 드라마의 상상하기를 통해 문제 상황 속에서 자신의 경험을 확대하면서 개인적 리더십이 발달하고, 의사소통 과정에서 사회적 리더십이 발달하며, 문제 상황 속의 다른 사람의 삶을 그대로 살아보고 다양한 창의적 해결 과정을 겪으며 문제해결적 리더십이 향상되는 것이다.
Abstract
This study aims to examine the effects of educational drama using Dorothy Heathcote's D.I.E.(Drama In Education) on creative leadership for elementary students. To this purpose, the research questions are as follows. First, how should educational drama using D.I.E. for improving elementary students' creative leadership be constructed? Second, what are the effects of educational drama using D.I.E. on elementary students' creative leadership? The participants of this study consists of 23 fifth-graders located in Seoul. The experimental group participated in total of 7 sessions of drama program for 7 weeks. Concerning the measuring instrument, Creative Leadership Test was simultaneously performed for pre-and-post tests. IBM SPSS Statistics 22 program was used for data processing for paired t-test. Additional Data were collected from various sources including self-reflective writing, program worksheets, interviews, and researcher's journal. Collected data were analyzed in a qualitative manner. The summary of the study results is as follows. First, problematic situations considering interest and excitement contributed to the improvement of creative leadership. Problem situations could trigger the interests of the participants, keep their motivations, attain the aims of the lesson. The drama for improving creative leadership was structured in a procedural manner such as Problematic Situations, Defamiliarization, and Living Through. Second, the educational drama using D.I.E. had positive effect on creative leadership of elementary students. There were statistically considerable differences in lower factors which are individual/personal leadership, social leadership, and problem-solving leadership. No statistically significant differences in self-management and creative thinking were also observed. In conclusion, this study found that educational drama using D.I.E. was effective in terms of the improvement of elementary students' creative leadership. Consequently, if the drama education that was used in this study is actively utilized in the field of elementary education, it may contribute in enhancing and improving elementary students' creative leadership.
