학교 인권교육 강화 및 교사의 인권교육 역량 증진에 관한 연구

오늘날 한국 사회에서 매우 절박하고도 시급하게 대처해야 할 문제 중의 하나가 바로 학교폭력이다. 이 연구는 이러한 학교폭력을 극복하기 위한 한 방안으로서 인권 및 인권교육에 대한 인식과 실천을 새로이 할 것을 강조하였다. 구체적으로 이 연구에서는 학교폭력에 대처하고 그러한 문제를 미리 예방하기 위해서는 인권공동체로서의 학교 운영이 필요함을 지적하면서 이를 위해 학교에서의 인권교육 강화와 교사들의 인권교육적 전문성 및 지도역량 증진에 힘쓸 것을 제안하였다. 이 때 학교에서의 인권교육 강화를 위해서는 학생들에 대한 제대로 된 인권교육의 실행, 인권교육적 자질과 역량을 갖춘 교사의 확보, 학교에 영향을 주고 있는 사회 그 자체의 인권친화적 변화, 그리고 교육의 본질에 충실한 학교의 운영 등이 통합적으로 추구되어야 함을 지적하였다. 그리고 인권교육적 전문성과 역량을 지닌 교사 확보와 관련해서는 대학 교육과정에서의 예비교사들에 대한 인권교육 지도능력 배양, 교사 양성대학에서의 인권친화적 학교문화 운영, 그리고 현직교사들에 대한 인권교육적 역량과 자질 증진 등이 추구되어야 함을 강조하였다.
Abstract
Nowadays in Korea, we have the urgent and serious problem – school violence. So, in this essay, I tried to inquire and suggest some ways to deal with and overcome the problem with considering the notion of human rights. The main ideas of the essay are as follows. Firstly, we need to know that if we forget or neglect human rights, the barbarous behaviors like school violence can always occur and appear in our society. So, we should newly recognize the importance and value of human rights, human rights education and running the community of school based on human rights. Secondly, for managing and operating the school as the human rights community, we need to mobilize and apply the integrated mode of four approaches: to strengthen the human rights education in schools, to increase the teachers` abilities of human rights education, to make and develop the human rights-friendly society in Korea, and to realize the inherent nature of education in schools. Lastly, it`s very important to secure teachers who have the appropriate abilities of human rights education. Therefore, we should teach the teachers college students about human rights, the necessary theories, and the practical capacities that are related to human rights education. In addition, we need to develop the human rights-friendly culture of teachers colleges and give the in-service teachers the sufficient opportunities to have good experiences and appropriate abilities related human rights education.
