코로나19 이후 블렌디드 러닝의 확산 경로와 과정에 대한 질적 사례 연구

본 연구는 코로나19로 인하여 블렌디드 러닝이 어떠한 경로와 과정을 거쳐 확산되었는지에 대한탐색적 연구이다. 지금까지 코로나19로 인한 원격 수업의 방법과 인식, 만족도, 그리고 과제에 대한연구는 많았다. 하지만 코로나19 이후 블렌디드 러닝이 어떠한 경로를 거쳐 급격하게 확산되고, 그수용 과정에서 교사들의 갈등과 긴장에 대한 연구는 부족했다. 이에 본 연구에서는 코로나19 발생 초기부터 블렌디드 러닝을 도입하고 운영하며 확산되는 사례에 주목하였다. 나무별초등학교는 블렌디드러닝이 모방적⋅규범적⋅강제적 동형화를 통해 급진적으로 확산되며 확산을 견인하는 현상을 탐색하기 위한 독특한 기회를 제공해 주었다. 본 연구에서는 제도적 접근의 동형화 이론과 조직이론의 지행격차 관점을 연구의 분석틀로 삼아, 질적 사례 연구 기법을 활용하여 연구를 수행하였다. 연구 결과, 블렌디드 러닝의 확산 초기에는 연구 학교의 시범 운영 사례를 벤치마킹하며 모방적 동형화를 통해도입되었다. 이 과정에서 교사들의 직무 재구조화와 개인책임화의 갈등이 발생하였으며, 교사들은 교원학습공동체를 통해 어려움을 극복해 나갔다. 이후, 코로나19 상황에서 교육 가치를 실현하기 위하여 규범적 동형화를 통해 먼 곳에서부터 확산되는 양상을 보였으며, 교육청과 상급기관의 제도적 지원에 힘입어 강제적 동형화를 통해 점차 가까운 곳의 교육 모델로 채택되며 미래 교육을 위한 대안으로 전환되는 과정을 보여주었다. 논의 및 결론에서는 블렌디드 러닝 확산의 역설을 중심으로 본 연구의 이론적, 정책적 시사점을 제시하였다.
Abstract
This is an exploratory study on the path and process through which blended learning has spread due to COVID-19. To date, there have been many studies on the method, perception, satisfaction, and task of blended learning due to COVID-19, but research on how blended learning has rapidly spread due to COVID-19 has been insufficient. Therefore, this study focused on cases where blended learning was introduced, applied, and spread from the beginning of the COVID-19 outbreak. An elementary school provided an opportunity to explore the phenomenon that blended learning spreads radically through mimetic, normative, and coercive isomorphism, and drives the spread. The qualitative case design was used to conduct this study, using the institutional approach’s isomorphism theory and the knowing–doing gap perspective of the organizational theory as the analysis frame of the study. As a result of the study, in the early stages of the spread of blended learning, it was introduced through mimetic isomorphism by benchmarking pilot cases of research schools. Since then, it has been spreading through normative isomorphism to perform educational values in the context of COVID-19, showing the process of transitioning to alternatives. Theoretical and policy implications of this study were presented, focusing on the paradox of the spread of blended learning.
