2022 개정 음악과 교육과정이 종래의 교육과정에 비해 나타내는 큰 변화 중 하나는 ‘창작’이 독립된 영역으로 설정되었다는 것이다. 본 연구는 2022 개정 음악과 교육과정에 따른 초등학교 음악 창작수업이 실제로 어떻게 구현될지를 살펴보기 위하여 2022 개정 음악과 교육과정 ‘창작’ 영역의 핵심아이디어와 성취기준, 교수⋅학습 등의 주요 내용을 바탕으로 초등학교 3∼4학년 음악 교과서의 창작 활동 유형을 분석하고 그 특징을 탐구해 보는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위해 첫째, 2022 개정 음악과 교육과정의 ‘창작’ 영역의 내용 체계, 성취기준, 교수⋅학습 관련 내용을 살펴보았다. 둘째, 2022 개정 음악과 교육과정을 기반으로 만들어진 초등학교 3∼4학년군 음악 교과서 전시본 총 14권을 대상으로 하여 음악 교과서에 드러난 창작 활동의 유형을 분석해 보았다. 셋째, 초등학교 3∼4학년 음악 교과서의 창작 활동 유형을 유목화하여 정리하고 그 특징을 파악하였다. 연구 결과, 초등학교 3∼4학년 음악 교과서의 창작 활동은 2022 개정 음악과 교육과정에 기반하여 학생들의 능동적인 활동과 창의적 음악 표현을 촉진하는 방향으로 설계되어 있었다. 특히 즉흥 연주하기, 바꾸어 나타내기, 여러 가지 방법으로 표현하기, 음악 기록 방법 활용하기 등과 같은 다채로운 활동이 제시되어 있었다. 다만 창작 활동이 ‘바꾸어 나타내기’에 다소 치우쳐 있다는 점은 개선할 점으로 파악되었다. 연구의 제언으로 음악 교과서에 드러난 다양한 음악 학습 활동을 실제 음악 수업에서 잘 구현함으로써 음악 교과의 본질에 적합한 음악 창작 교육이 이루어지길 기대하며 이를 뒷받침하기 위한 교사 교육과 지원의 필요성, 초등학교 음악 수업에서 다양한 음악 창작 도구의 활용, 학년군 간 창작 학습의 연계성 강화의 필요성 등을 제안하였다.
Abstract
Creation has been established as an independent domain as one of the major changes in the 2022 revised curriculum in Korea. This study aims to investigate the influence of the implementation of the creation domain on music creation lessons at the elementary school level. Toward this end, it first examines the content structure, achievement standards, and teaching–learning guidelines within this domain. Second, it analyzes the types of creative activities presented in 14 sample music textbooks for the third- and fourth-grade elementary students. Finally, the study categorized the identified creative activities and explored their characteristics. The results revealed that the creative activities in the textbooks were designed to foster active engagement and encourage creative musical expression in line with the objectives of the curriculum. Various activities, including improvisation, reinterpretation, expression using various methods, and the use of music notation, were introduced. However, the study found that the focus on reinterpretation requires improvement. To enhance music creation education in elementary schools, effectively implementing the textbook activities in actual classes is essential, thus ensuring that they align with the core principles of the music curriculum. The findings also highlighted the need for teacher training and support, the use of diverse creative tools, and connections between music creative learning across grade levels.
