한국인과 폴란드인의 이동 동사에 대한 인식 연구

‘이동 동사’는 언어학적으로 매우 좁게도 그리고 넓게도 해석할 수 있는 동사군이다. 이 연구에서는 한국어와 폴란드어처럼 인접하지 않은 낯선 언어 관계에서 이동 동사는 어떤 의미 차이를 가지고 있을지 인식조사를 통해 살펴보았다. 예컨대 한국어의 대표적인 이동 동사인 ‘가다’, ‘오다’의 경우에는 ‘방향’이 대립을 이루지만, 폴란드어 ‘iść(걸어서 가다)’와 ‘chodzić(걸어 다니다)’의 경우에는 ‘방식’의 대립이 두드러진다. 또 한국어는 공간과 시간 중 공간의 중심이 두드러지지만 폴란드어는 공간 못지않게 시간도 중요한 개념인 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 차이가 양국 언어 사용자의 인식에서 어떻게 나타나는지를 살펴보고자 한다.
Abstract
This study focus upon the perception of ‘motion’ and how it is expressed in both the Korean and Polish languages. Research was carried out based on a survey in which key verbs of motion were proposed by Korean and Polish students. The most popular choices for motion in Korean are 16 verbs referring to direction, manner, means of transport, frequency as well as superordinate verbs (e.g. ‘umjigida’). In contrast there are 21 verbs of motion which are most popularly used by Polish students. These refer mostly to manner, but there are also verbs with additional components of meaning such as ‘pleasure’ (e.g. ‘tańczyć’) or ‘purpose/result’ (e.g. ‘uciekać’), superordinate verbs (e.g. ‘przemieszczać się’) and verbs referring to direction. Detailed analyses are made and the contrasts between basic verbs of motion in both languages are discussed.
