장자(莊子)』 「칙양(則陽)」편의 도론(道論) －소지(少知)와 태공조(大公調)의 대화를 중심으로－

Abstract

This paper aims to study the concept ‘Dao’(道) of the chapter Ze-yang(則陽) in the Zhuangzi, especially through dialogue between Shaozhi(少知) and Taigongtiao(大公調). The core concept ‘Dao’ in the Zhuangzi is regarded as the basis for the existence of all things, but can’t find a direct explanation for it in the Zhuangzi neipian. The concept ‘Dao’(道) of the chapter Ze-yang(則陽), especially through conversation between Shaozhi and Taigongtiao, contains a few problems such as awareness and regulation of the concept Dao, implication of the concept Dao in the origin of creation and basis of existence, how to recognize the concept Dao etc. The first dialogue between the two scholars explains the concept Dao of being the one that encompasses all things in the process of dealing with the problems of the same and the different, the whole and the part. The second dialogue reveals the problems of two viewpoints on the master of creation, namely, the views of ‘what makes it so’(或使) and ‘do nothing’(莫爲). The dialogue between the two scholars discusses the problem of recognition and regulation of the concept Dao from an epistemological perspective, and through this, seeks the ontological basis and the substantive implications of the concept Dao in a socio-political context. Perspective on the concept Dao of the chapter Ze-yang(則陽) accepts and examines the discussion of the operation, nature, characteristics of the Dao, and methods of acquiring the concept Dao in the the Laozi and the Zhuangzi neipian. In addition, it can be evaluated that it has had some influence on the later Xuanxue(玄學) and Chongxuanxue(重玄學) trends in that it deals with the perception and definition of the concept Dao through the problems of reason and language.
