초록
In general, ‘有’, which is a representative existential sentence in Chinese, expresses an objective statement about the subject of existence, ‘some person or thing is in a certain place’, whereas ‘是’ assertive existential sentence is ‘a person or thing in a certain place, there is a thing, and it is X’. The meaning of 'There is a thing and it is X' is focused on the subjective judgment of an already existing person or thing. In this paper, it has the same typical form of existential syntax [subject (Locative) + verb + predicate (Theme)], and there is still a syntactic and semantic between the two sentences belonging to the static existential sentence that shows only simple existence, not a way of being or a process. Considering that there is a pragmatic difference, I tried to comprehensively examine the commonalities and differences between the two existential sentences from a diachronic and synchronic perspective.
