Among the monosyllabic noun reduplications, the AA-type has the widest distribution, and the AAA-type is only found in southern dialects. Among the two-syllable noun reduplications, the AAB-type has the widest distribution, and the noun reduplications in the AAB-type are usually localizers or time words. The two-syllable common nouns are usually reduplicated in the AABB-type. The noun reduplications add the meaning of small or large quantity, and it also have the function of embodying the nature or state of what the basic expression refer to. In addition, The noun reduplications reveal some emotional colors.
