초등학교 초임담임교사의 체육 지도 내용 및 방법에 영향을 미친 배경 요인과 그에 따른 수업지식 분석

본 연구는 체육을 전공(심화과정)하지 않은 초등학교 초임담임교사의 체육 수업관에 따른 수업지식의 형성과정을 살펴보고, 이렇게 구분된 수업지식들간의 차이점을 살펴보고자 하는 것이 목적이다. 면담 결과, 초임담임교사들은 수업관 세부항목 중 체육수업 지도 내용 및 방법에 영향을 미친 배경 요인에 따라 교생 실습, 관찰견습 및 학급담임 경험의 두 교사집단으로 구분되었다. 수업목표 지식에서는 두 교사 집단 모두 정의적 영역에 가장 중점을 두었고, 수업목표 설정에 대한 바탕 지식은 관찰견습과 대학시절 경험을 통해 형성되었다. 학생이해 지식에서는 두 교사 집단 모두 학생들의 성차 및 기능차에 따른 지도에 어려움을 겪고 있었고, 해결 방안으로 학생들의 흥미 유발에 초점을 두었다. 그리고 학생들은 대부분 구기활동을 선호하고, 체력영역을 기피한다고 하였으며, 학생이해 지식 대부분을 학급담임으로 직접 경험하면서 형성하였다. 수업전략 지식 에서는 두 교사 집단 모두 분습에서 전습으로의 지도를 통해 수업을 조직하였고, 대부분 학급담임 후 지도한 경험을 통해 시행착오를 겪으면서 깨우치고 있었다. 또한, 수업 후 다양한 수업 방법을 시도하고 있었으며, 수업 지도에 사용한 기술 종류 및 습득 경로는 다양하였다. 교육과정 지식에서는 두 교사 집단 모두 수업 자료를 대부분 동기유발 자료로 활용하였고, 대부분 교과용 도서와 인터넷(에듀넷)을 통해 활용 지식을 형성하고 있었다. 이상과 같이 초임담임교사들의 수업지식에 교육대학교에서의 교사교육 프로그램의 영향력은 미미하였고, 대부분 학급담임으로 발령 난 후의 지도 경험을 통해 수업지식을 쌓아가고 있었다. 이에 이들에게 실질적인 도움을 줄 수 있는 교육대학교의 교사교육 프로그램 재편성이 요구되며, 아울러 이들의 어려움을 시급히 해소시켜 줄 현장 추수지도 및 신규연수가 절실히 필요하다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to examine how the content knowledge and teaching perspectives of novice elementary school teachers who did not major in physical education (PE) affect the content of physical education. After having an interview with four novice teachers, they were divided into two groups: student teachers and apprentices and novice classroom teachers. Each group placed an emphasis on the affective domain in bjective knowledge. Their background knowledge for establishing the objectives were formed by experience from apprenticeship and experience from university education. In terms of understanding the students, both groups showed difficulty in handling a gender difference as well as a difference in ability, and suggested motivating student interests as a solution. Furthermore, it was suggested that students like ball games more than physical fitness activities. Both groups were able to understand their students more after they took charge of the class. In the area of teaching strategies, both groups organized their lessons from a partial-learning method to a whole method, and they developed teaching skills through a process of trial and error from their classroom experiences. They also acquired teaching skills from diverse sources and applied various methods in class. Most of them applied materials for developing student motivation, and obtained helpful information from the teacher's guide book and the Internet (edunet). For novice elementary school teachers, the effects of teacher education received at the teacher's college were insignificant, and most of them were able to develop their pedagogical knowledge and skills through their teaching experiences after being appointed as elementary classroom teachers. Thus, a reassessment of elementary school teacher education programs is necessary, and in-service programs to help novice classroom teachers should be provided.
