초록

본 연구의 목적은 중등학교 초임 체육교사들이 체육교과와 관련된 전문지식을 형성해나가는 사회화 과정을 이해하는 데 있다. 이를 위해 중등 초임체육교사 4명을 대상으로 질적 사례연구방법을 적용하였다. 연구 참여교사 각 개인의 사회화 과정을 통해 형성된 체육교과 전문지식을 수업목표, 학생 이해, 수업전략, 교육과정의 네 가지 하위 요소로 나누어 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 초임교사들이 대학에서 배운 교과에 대한 이론적 지식을 실제에 적용시키는 데는 많은 괴리가 있음이 나타났다. 그들은 대학에서 배운 이론적 지식과는 무관하게 현장에서 직접 부딪히면서 힘겹게 실제적 지식을 축적해 나가고 있었다. 결론적으로, 초임체육교사들이 체육교과 전문지식을 형성해 나가는 과정은 그들이 처한 상황과 맥락 내에서 시행착오를 겪으면서 힘겹게 획득해 나가는 과정으로 이해할 수 있다.

Abstract

A Study on the Formulation Pedagogical Content Knowledge of Secondary Beginning Physical Education Teacher The purpose of this study was to understand the elements that influence on subject expertise in physical education of beginning secondary teachers during their teacher socialization. For this, 4 PE teachers involved through qualitative case study. The four themes include 'knowledge of objective', 'knowledge of students' understanding', 'knowledge of teaching strategies', and 'knowledge of curriculum'. The findings of the study indicate that the gaps between theory and practice in teacher education are result of neglect on the practical knowledge of teachers whilst emphasis on theoretical knowledge of teacher educators. Since PE teachers in the school who are hardly involve in the process of creation of practical knowledge. In conclusion, the pedagogical content knowledge of beginning PE teachers who were served in secondary could be understood as a process of PE teachers' struggles against the teaching profession in their contexts.
