중학교 초임체육교사의 수업성찰 초점과 성찰초점 형성요인 탐색

초록

이 연구는 초임체육교사가 일상의 수업상황에서 기록한 성찰일지를 분석함으로써 체육교사의 수업성찰 초점과 그 형성에 도움을 주는 실제적 맥락과 상호작용 요소를 심층적으로 밝히는 데 목적이 있다. 연구참여자는 유목적 표집법 중 전형적 사례표집을 사용하여 선정하였다. 연구 참여자인 ‘K’ 교사는 ‘S’시 ‘L’중학교에 근무하고 있는 30세의 초임체육교사이다. 자료는 2011년 3월 1일부터 7월 21일까지 ‘K’ 교사의 구조화 된 형식과 비구조화 된 형식으로 구분된 수업성찰 일지와 문화적 인공물이 수집되었다. 자료의 분석은 유형적 분석과 상시적 비교분석법을 상호보완적으로 사용하여 실시하였다. 다각도 분석, 동료연구자 검토, 부정적 사례검토를 통해서 연구의 진실성을 확보하였다. 이 연구에서 초임체육교사의 수업성찰 일지를 분석한 결과, 교수내용지식의 하위지식 영역인 교과내용, 교수방법, 학생이해, 환경맥락 측면에서 수업성찰 초점이 다양하게 나타났다. 이러한 수업성찰 초점의 형성에 기여하는 요소로서 저널쓰기, 동료교사와의 상호교섭, 타교 교사와 웹을 활용한 소통, 학생정서의 이해 노력이 탐색되었다. 초임체육교사의 수업성찰 초점과 성찰초점 형성요인은 긍정적인 측면과 부정적 측면이 고루 존재했는데, 이러한 폭넓은 수업성찰은 초임체육교사에게 수업에 관한 갈등과 고민을 제공함으로써 교사전문성을 발달시키는 역할을 하였다. 그 동안 예비체육교사, 경력체육교사에게 집중되었던 수업성찰에 관한 연구가 초임체육교사에게 시도되고 그 효과성이 입증된 것에 이 연구는 큰 의미를 가진다.

Abstract

This study attempts to reveal the depth of practical context and interactive elements that help in the formation of reflection focus by analyzing the daily record of a reflective journal concerning the everyday teaching situations of a novice physical education teacher. The novice physical education teacher who participated in this study was thirty years old and working in 'L' Middle School in 'S' City. The data was collected on a novice physical education teacher from March 1 to July 21, 2011 in a reflective journal. The format of the document was classified as either structured or non-structured. An analysis of the data was carried out using typological analysis and a constantly complementary comparison analysis. The results of the study indicate that the focus on reflection unfolded diversely in the sub-regions of pedagogical content knowledge, content knowledge, teaching methods, student understanding, and environment creation. The search factors that contributed to the formation of these foci of reflections were journal writing, interaction with teachers, web communication with teachers in other schools, and efforts to understand students. This study could have significant implications for its effectiveness in in-service physical education teacher education through research into reflections on the teaching of the pre-service physical education teachers.
