텍스트 네트워크 분석을 통한 한국과 미국 음악교육 연구동향 비교 -학술지 ‘음악교육연구’와 ‘Journal of Research in Music Education’을 중심으로

초록

본 연구는 우리나라 음악교육의 대표 학술지 ‘음악교육연구’와 미국 음악교육의 대표 학술지 ‘Journal of Research in Music Education’(이하 JRME)’의 연구동향 비교를 목적으로 수행되었다. 이를 위하여 2008년부터 2017년까지 두 학술지에 수록된 논문 주제어의 텍스트 네트워크 분석을 실시하였으며, 도출된 결과는 다음과 같았다. 첫째, 우리나라 학술지 음악교육연구의 논문들은 공교육 관련 주제들을 중심으로 수행되고 있었다. 특히, 역량, 융합교육, 인성교육 등 교육과정 개정 방향을 활발하게 반영하고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 둘째, 미국 학술지 JRME는 연주와 관련된 음악활동을 다룬 연구들을 중심으로 수행되고 있었다. 또한 연주활동뿐 아니라 기초음악능력에 해당하는 시창, 청각능력, 음악 지각 등 음악 활동의 기초부터 적용까지를 폭넓게 다룬다는 점을 알 수 있었다. 셋째, 두 학술지의 특성을 통하여 최근 10년간 음악교육 연구의 전통적인 개념들과 이에 대한 확장을 알 수 있었다.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to compare research trends in the ‘Korean Journal of Research in Music Education’ (KJRME) and the 'Journal of Research in Music Education’ (JRME), which are representative journals of music education in Korea and the US, respectively. Using text network analysis, keywords of both journals published from 2008 to 2017 were analyzed. The results were as follows. First, research studies in the KJRME focused on how the public education system in Korea actively aims to reflect revisions of the National Curriculum such as competency, convergence education, character education. Second, the JRME focused on studies regarding musical activities; in particular, this journal broadly covered not only musical performances but also fundamental musical abilities such as sight-singing, aural skill, and music perception. Finally, it was revealed that the use of traditional concepts in music education research has expanded over the last 10 years in both journals.
