이 연구는 ‘한국노동패널’ 조사의 자료와 거래 비용 이론을 이용하여 금융 산업의 비정규직 노동 이동을 분석하였다. 노동 이동은 직장 이동과 노동 시장 지위 이동으로 나누어 분석하였다. 직장 이동에 대한 분석의 결과, 임금이 통제되지 않았을 때는 비정규직이 정규직보다 직장 이동 가능성이 더 높지만, 임금이 통제되었을 때는 미취업 상태로 이동할 가능성에 고용 형태가 미치는 영향이 사라지는 것으로 나타난다. 금융 산업에서는 임금 수준이 높은 비정규직이 많아서, 이러한 비정규직이 고용 형태가 고용 안정성에 미치는 영향을 상당히 약화시킨다고 할 수 있다. 노동 시장 지위 이동에 대한 분석의 결과, 임금이 통제되지 않았을 때와 임금이 통제되었을 때 모두 비정규직이 정규직에 비해 노동 시장 지위 이동 가능성이 의미 있게 높은 것으로 나타난다. 따라서 고용 형태를 유지하지 않고 미취업 상태로 이동하는 데에는 임금 외의 다른 보상도 중요한 역할을 한다고 할 수 있다.
Abstract
This study analyzed labor mobility of nonstandard workers in financial industry using the Korea Labor and Income Panel Study data and transaction cost theory. Labor mobility consists of workplace transitions and transitions of labor market statuses. Results of the analyses on workplace transitions show the following: If wages are not controlled, nonstandard workers are more likely to leave their workplaces than standard workers. If wages are controlled, however, nonstandard workers are as likely to move to nonemployment as standard workers. We can say that there are many nonstandard workers who earn high wages in financial industry, and these nonstandard workers substantially weaken the effects of employment types on employment stability. Results of the analyses on transitions of labor market statuses are as follows: Whether or not wages are controlled, nonstandard workers are more likely to change their labor market statuses than standard workers. Therefore, one can suggest that benefits other than wages are also important in moving to nonemployment instead of maintaining employment types.
