Abstract
Background: Following the COVID-19 pandemic, the importance of health management has surged, drawing attention to healthcareservices. Young and middle-aged adults, interested in health and adept at using smart devices, are prime users of such services. However, differences in their information acquisition and usage skills necessitate a tailored approach in service application design. This study identified the user expected value factors they expect from healthcare services based on young and middle-aged adults’ health management behaviors Methods: A literature review was conducted to explore healthcare services application and health management behaviors among young and middle-aged adults. The target group was segmented into two types: health-promotion-oriented and low-involvement users. Surveys for each group identified items to determine user expected value factors. A questionnaire was then developed, and a survey and factor analysis were conducted to derive and analyze these factors. Results: Through the survey and factor analysis, the user expected value factors for healthcare services based on different types of young and middle-aged users were identified. First, two common user expected value factors shared across the young and middle-aged adults were derived: <Ease of Management> and <Diet Personalization>. For health-promotion-oriented young and middle-aged users, seven user expected value factors were identified, including <Information Comparability> and <Consistency in Management>. For low-involvement young and middle-aged users, ten user expected value factors were identified, such as <Integrated Purchasing> and <Information Sharing>. Conclusion: This study provides foundational data for designing customized healthcare service applications, reflecting diverse user needs. The findings offer valuable insights for guiding service application design, establishing development standards, and improving existing service applications.
