정조~고종대 『日省錄』 科擧 시행 기사의 작성 방식 검토

『일성록』 과거 기사의 작성 방식은 실록이나 『승정원일기』와 비교할 때 몇 가지 특징이 있다. 우선 『일성록』 전체를 관통하는 강목체로 작성하였을 뿐 아니라 기사에 수록할 내용과 文型에도 통일을 기하였다. 또 실록이나 『승정원일기』와 달리 생원․진사시와 문무과의 초시, 복시, 전시 등 시험의 전단계를 기사화하였다. 나아가 시험문제, 응시자 수, 제출 답안 수와 같은 새로운 정보를 추가하였다. 그 결과 『일성록』은 과거 기사에 관한 한 가장 풍부한 정보를 담고 있다. 기사의 수록 정도는 고종대 다소 하락하는 경향이 보이지만 모든 단계의 시험을 기사로 작성한다는 원칙은 여전히 고수되었다. 따라서 『일성록』에 수록된 자료를 시계열적으로 배열하면 정조대에서 고종대까지의 과거 시행 경향을 통시적으로 고찰할 수 있다. 나아가 시험 문제와 응시자 수 정보를 통해 장기적인 출제 경향과 응시자 수의 변동 추이도 파악할 수 있다.
Abstract
Articles about civil service examinations contained in the Record of Daily Reflections have some distinct characteristics compared to those in Veritable records of Joseon dynasty and Diaries of the Royal Secretariat. First, they were written in the detailed outline style and consistent in contents and sentence structure. Also they included every stage of the examinations, preliminary・advanced examinations, palace examinations etc.-different from Veritable records of Joseon dynasty and Diaries of the Royal Secretariat. Moreover, they added new informations such as examination questions, the number of candidates, and the number of answer sheets. Therefore, the Record of Daily Reflections contains the richest information on articles related to civil service examinations. The number of articles decreased during the reign of King Gojong but the principle of recording every stage of the examination still continued. Thus, we can understand the practice of civil service examinations from the reign of King Jeongjo to King Gojong by analyzing the materials contained in Record of Daily Reflections. Furthermore, we can also understand the tendency of the examination questions and the changes in the number of candidates through those related informations.
