이 연구는 주제 중심의 초등통합교과 교육의 구현 가능성을 탐색하였다. 이를 위해서 제4차부터 제7차 교육과정까지 통합교과의 교육과정 총론을 중심으로 초등학교에서 통합교과교육이 하고자 했던 것이 무엇인가를 분석하였다. 그리고 2007년 개정 교육과정과 교과서는 이를 어떻게 구현하고 있는지를 탐색하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 초등학교 1, 2학년에 통합교과서 및 통합교육과정을 도입한 궁극적인 이유는 ‘주제’ 중심의 일상적인 수업 문화를 정착시키고자 하는 것이었다. 둘째, ‘주제’ 중심의 교수․학습을 구현하기 위해서 교육과정과 교과서 두 차원에서 조처를 취했다. 먼저 2007년 개정 통합교과 교육과정은 대주제/활동주제 체제로 개발하여 교과를 넘어서 ‘주제’를 중심으로 한 통합 가능성을 교육과정 차원에서 조처하였다. 그리고 교과서는 세 개의 통합교과를 통합 지도 할 수 있는 통합단원을 개발함으로써 초등학교 교실에 일정기간 동안 하나의 학습 ‘주제’가 살아 날 수 있는 시스템을 마련하였다.
Abstract
This study aims to inquire the Possibility implementation of Elementary Integrated Curriculum Based theme. In order to this aims, It was investigated the national elementary integrated curriculum from forth to fifth. And this study examined The 2007 revised national curriculum and the children's textbook In view of this study results, first, the elementary integrated curriculum and subjects was introduced to live theme based learning and teaching in class. Second, For theme based learning and teaching, the 2007 revised national elementary integrated curriculum was developed based themes of children's life. And Integrated textbook was made integrated units of [Disciplinary Life], [Intelligence Life] and [Pleasant Life] integrating. Third, in future, the national elementary integrated curriculum would spread this theme based learning and teaching in elementary schooling.
