본 연구는 초등학교 통합교과서 일러스트레이션의 사진과 그림에 대해 각각 학생과 교사가 선호하는 표현양식이 무엇인지 알아보고자 6개 일러스트레이션을 비교 제시하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 첫째, 학생은 그림을 선호했다. 그림을 선호하는 일러스트레이션의 특성은 일러스트레이션이 교수 학습에서 동기유발과 활동안내의 역할을 가진다. 둘째, 교사는 사진을 선호했다. 사진을 선호하는 일러스트레이션의 특성은 일러스트레이션이 교수 학습에서 자료제공과 동기유발의 역할을 가진다. 본 연구 결과, 학생과 교사는 각각 다른 선호 경향을 보였다. 앞으로 교과서의 내용을 구성할 때도 수요자인 학생의 입장에서 보다 효율적인 일러스트레이션의 표현양식이 무엇인지 연구할 필요성이 있다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to find out which is students preferred form of illustration and which is teachers’ between photos and pictures in integrated elementary school textbooks. For the purpose of doing this research, 6 illustrations were chosen from integrated elementary school textbooks, made into testing materials consisting of 6 photos and as many pictures of the same subjects, and distributed to 98 teachers and 187 student along with questionnaires. The results are as follows. First, the children preferred pictures in general. The characteristics of their preferred pictures were the ones for showing how to do the activities in learning and instruction in terms of functions. Second, teachers preferred photos in general. The characteristics of teachers’ preferred photos were the ones for giving examples or motivating in learning and instruction in terms of functions. This study shows that there is a marked difference between children and teachers in the decisive factor which influences the choice of their preferred illustrations. Based on this study, a further study on the effect of students and teachers preferred illustrations on learning and instruction should be carried out.
