The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of leadership on followership of Super Deluxe hotel F&B organizations. Two hundred and fifteen questionnaires were utilized from the sample of 240 hotel F&B employees from three different Super Deluxe hotels operated in Daejeon City. Exploratory factor analyses identified two underlying dimensions of leadership and followership respectively; transactional and servant, and proactive and team spirit. Structural equational modeling using AMOS 18.0 was adopted to test research hypothesis. The results revealed that servant leadership showed positive impact both on proactive and team spirit of followership. On the contrary, transactional leadership was not related to neither of followership factors. The results of the study suggested important implications on successful management of hotel F&B organizations.
Abstract
