국제적 통일 공감대 확산의 저해 요인과 과제

Abstract

Recently, as China and Russia have taken political actions solely in consideration of their own political interests, the security instability on the Korean Peninsula has deepened, and the international order in Northeast Asia is reverting to a Cold War-era alliance based on the hostile game between South Korea, the United States, and Japan versus China, Russia, and North Korea. The problem is that changes in the strategic environment surrounding the Korean Peninsula is having a negative impact on establishing peace and building a foundation for unification. In other words, the intensifying conflictual confrontation between South Korea, the United States, and Japan versus China, Russia, and North Korea surrounding the Korean Peninsula makes it more difficult to secure international support for North Korea's denuclearization and unification of the Korean Peninsula, considering that the unification of the Korean Peninsula is closely related to the complex interests of the four major powers in Northeast Asia. Accordingly, this paper identifies the international factors that do not significantly improve support and consensus of unification on the Korean Peninsula in our allies and friendly nations as well as in our competitors. Based on this analysis of these hindering factors, it analyzes tasks to secure support and consensus for unification on the Korean Peninsula from the international community.
