메타버스 플랫폼 활용한 통일교육 콘텐츠 방향성 연구: 지역 단위 도입과 지역성 구현을 중심으로

본 연구는 그동안 다양한 미디어 기술을 활용하여 진행된 청소년 대상 통일교육 성과와 분석에 기반하여 최근 새로운 미디어 환경과 경험을 제공하는 메타버스 플랫폼에서 지역 단위 통일교육 콘텐츠의 개발 방향성을 제안한다. 최근에 진행된 국민들의 통일 및 북한의식에 대한 조사에서 지역별과 연령별로 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났으며, 이는 청소년 대상으로 하는 통일교육을 진행하는 데 있어 지역 단위에서 그들의 디지털 미디어 이용 환경을 반영하여 눈높이에 맞는 실감형 콘텐츠를 제작하여 교육의 효과를 높일 필요성이 있음을 보여준다. 연구 결과, 지역 차원에서 청소년들에게 메타버스 활용 통일교육 콘텐을 기획하고 제공하는 데 네 가지 방향성, 즉 정보성, 흥미성, 상호작용성, 그리고 지역성이 필요하다. 특히, 부산 지역의 지리적 및 역사적 특성을 반영하여 유엔 평화공원과 북한의 항구도시를 메타버스 가상 공간에서 콘텐츠화하여 지역의 청소년들에게 평화와 통일교육의 관련성을 높여 교육의 효과를 높일 수 있을 것으로 제안한다. 본 연구의 결과는 메타버스 활용 통일교육 콘텐츠를 구현하는 데 학술적인 관심을 증대시킬 뿐만 아니라 향후 통일교육 메타버스 서비스를 제작하는 과정에서 기술적 및 실무적인 도움을 줄 것으로 기대된다.
Abstract
This study proposes directions for developing regional-level unification education content on Metaverse platforms, based on the achievements and analyses of previous unification education programs for adolescents that utilized diverse media technologies. Recent surveys on public perceptions of unification and North Korea revealed differences across regions and age groups. These findings highlight the need to enhance the effectiveness of unification education for adolescents by producing immersive content tailored to their digital media usage environments at the regional level. The results of this study suggest four essential directions for planning and delivering Metaverse- based unification education content for adolescents: informativeness, attractiveness, interactivity, and localization. In particular, by reflecting the geographical and historical characteristics of Busan, such as the UN Peace Memorial Park and North Korean port cities, the study proposes creating Metaverse-based virtual content that strengthens the connection between peace and unification education for local adolescents. The outcomes of this research are expected not only to increase academic interest in implementing Metaverse-based unification education content but also to provide technical and practical guidance for the future development of unification education services in the Metaverse.
