사회적 정의(Justice)와 기후변화에 관한 롤즈의 관점과 그에 대한 과정 철학적 이해

사회적 정의(justice)와 기후변화에 대한 논의 이전에 과연 정의란 무엇인가에 대한 개념 정립이 필요하겠다. 그런데 사실상 현대에서의 정의도 과거와 다르지 않게 여전히 평등의 문제에서 기인하고 있다고 할 수 있다. 이에 대해 롤즈(J. Rawls)는 무지의 베일(the Veil of Ignorance) 뒤에서 합의된 정의의 원칙을 요구한다. 물론 우리는 이 원칙을 수행하고자 할 때 딜레마에 봉착하게 되는데 그 이유는 바로 미래의 불확실성 때문이다. 이제 우리는 그러한 불확실성에도 불구하고 롤즈의 ‘정의론(A Theory of Justice)’이 현재 기후변화에 큰 기여를 할 수 있는 윤리임을 확인하고 이해할 필요가 있다. 또한 우리는 롤즈 ‘정의론’의 단점에 대한 윤리적 보완책을 화이트헤드(A. N. Whitehead)의 과정 철학 속에서 찾아보아야 한다는 과제도 안고 있다. 따라서 논자는 본 논문에서 우선 롤즈의 기본적 윤리 체계를 정린한 뒤, 기후변화 해결책으로서의 그 윤리적 적용 가능성을 살펴볼 것이다. 그리고 존재자들 간의 관계성 속에서 이루어지는, 미적(aesthetic) 무질서와 합생 과정에서의 파괴를 통한 창조성을 허용했던 화이트헤드의 과정 철학적 입장에서 롤즈의 윤리적 이론을 조명해 보고자 시도할 것이다.
Abstract
Before of any argument on social justice and climate change, at first a concept arrangement of justice must be formed. In reality, the issue on the justice has concentrated on a equality in our society a long time ago. At this point, J. Rawls asked the justice of an agreement based on veil of ignorance. However uncertainty of future accident comes into question. Now, our tasks on this problem follows; first, a understanding about the Theory of Justice of Rawls on the present climate change. second, an alternative or a solution through process philosophy of A. N. Whitehead. Therefore this paper will concern the ethical system of Rawls and the cause of the climate change, and then compare Rawls ethical theory with whitehead process-philosophy.
