日本 關聯 外來語表記法의 改正 必要性 -韓·日 新聞의 相互 外來語 表記 比較 考察-

漢字文化圈의 올바른 外來語 表記 方法을 알기 위해 韓國 신문과 日本 신문의 상대국 관련 외래어 표기를 比較 考察했다. 日本 신문은 朝日新聞의 2009년 3월 記事 중 韓國 관련 기사를 調査 對象으로 삼았다. 조사 결과, 日本 朝日新聞은 韓國 固有名詞를 漢字로 적는 것을 原則으로 삼고 독자는 自國語 發音으로 읽는다는 사실을 알 수 있었다. 이는 日本이 漢字文化圈의 漢字語는 外來語가 아닌 自國語로 여기기 때문이다. 이는 漢字文化圈의 共通되고 오래된 傳統인데, 日本은 그 傳統을 그대로 유지하고 있다. 그래서 日本人은 漢字文化圈 外來語를 ‘自國語 中心主義’로 便利하게 사용한다. 反面에 韓國 신문들은 日本 고유명사를 한글로 日本語 現地 原音을 적고 있다. 이는 이미 準固有語化되어 있는 漢字語를 현행 外來語表記法이 外國語로 잘못 취급하여 잘못된 ‘現地 原音主義’을 적용해버린 것이다. 그 결과, 韓國 독자들은 日本 고유명사 표기를 대하여 發音도 不便하고 意味도 알기 어려워 큰 不便을 겪고 있다. 따라서 韓國 政府는 韓國語의 오랜 傳統을 回復하여 漢字語는 漢字로 적고 韓國語 發音으로 읽게 해야 마땅하다. 그래야만 韓國 국민이 正常的인 言語生活을 할 수 있을 것이다.
Abstract
This paper surveyed the mutual orthography of loan words written in the articles of Korean and Japanese newspapers in order to understand an accurate transcription method of loan words in the cultural area of Chinese characters. In case of Japanese newspaper, this paper made the articles about Korean issues in Asahi Shinbun during March 2009 objects of this study. Japanese Asahi Shinbun transcribes Korean proper nouns into Chinese characters, and Japanese readers read them on the basis of the pronunciation of their vernacular, because Japan regards Chinese characters as their vernacular instead of loan words. This orthography is a long tradition common in the cultural area of Chines characters, and Japan maintains such a orthographic tradition so far. Thus Japanese people use loan words in the cultural area of Chinese characters conveniently based on the ‘vernacular-centricity’. On the contrary, Korean newspapers transcribe Japanese locale pronunciation into Hangul in writing of Japanese proper nouns, which has made Chinese characters, quasi-Korean language worse into ‘the locale etymological reading’ by considering them as loan words on the basis of loan words orthograph. In this respect, Korean readers undergo and suffer great confusion and inconvenience, for they don't understand the meaning in the transcription of Japanese proper nouns according to ‘principle of the locale etymological reading’. Consequently, Korea has to restore ‘vernacular-centricity’ by regarding Chinese characters as Korean words instead of dealing with them in terms of an orthography of loan words.
