Abstract
The grammatical relations in Classical Hebrew are specified by the mechanisms such as word order, verbal agreement and syntactic case marker. The purpose of this study is to describe these mechanisms and observe the phenomena and issues associated with the grammatical relations from a typological perspective. They are as follows: complementary distribution between the markedness and the verbal agreement in particular languages, the problem of specificity in relation to the presence or absence of accusative case marker, syntactically flexible position of direct object with syntactic case marker and indirect object carried with reposition phrase, the leveling of grammatical feature (e.g. case, gender, number) of noun's declension system, Hebrew pronoun's idiosyncrasy etc.
