This paper aims to understand the distribution and the role of the Manchu participle ending -ra, -ha, -rakū and -hakū in coordinate clauses. In previous studies, it was argued that there is a zero form or ∅ morpheme connecting clauses and clauses. If this construction is conjoined by ∅ morpheme, then the ∅ morpheme must have a specific meaning, but its meaning depends on the meaning of the ending of the last component. I propose that the participle ending is involved in the coordinate clauses. In Manchu examples, participle endings are semantically unspecified and obtain the meaning of the ending of the last component. The frequency of use of each participle ending form in the construction of the coordinate clause is shown in the order of -ra, -rakū, -ha, -hakū. This tendency is determined according to how the participle ending that constructs the coordinate clause is semantically independent.
