Abstract
This research was conducted to figure out the effects of robotic stimuli on autistic young child by observing interactions between robots and autistic young child. Young Child with Autism was observed while he played with five different robots with the power off and then with power on. The study material was gathered by using direct observational recording method, and those were again reviewed with video-analysis method. Also in order to record the pattern of interaction between autistic young child and robots, researcher adapted event recording method. The conclusions of this study were as follows. First, when the robot stimuli presented, child with autism is much more positive interactions than negative interactions. Second, positive interactions between child with autism and Paro, Lion Club, Squawker, Pleo were increased and negative interactions were decreased. However, Genibo’s positive interactions did not have any effect after the intervention.
