Abstract

This paper studied characteristics patterns of reactions in children labeled with autism through interactions with robot. To achieve this, 4 children labeled with autism and 5 different kinds of robot were part of this study. We found three results from the data analysis with observation and interview. (1)Change of eye contact, (2)Change of Curiosity, (3)Variation of attention. First, we found that playing with robot could stimulate the children to observe and operate eyes of robot. It could lead eye contact not between children and robot but children and teacher. Second, Children showed curiosity about behavior of robot and teacher, and it positively affected children's behavior. Third, Children were more attentive in robot and teacher positively.
