어머니와 아동과의 상호작용 행동은 아동의 언어와 사회성, 인지능력 발달에 긍정적인 상호관계가 있는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 일반적으로 전반적인 발달장애아동 어머니는 지시적이고 통제적이며 과도한 부정적인 반응을 보이는 경향이 있다. 그러나 대부분의 어머니 매개 중재방법을 활용한 연구에서는 아동의 목표행동의 변화에만 초점을 맞추고 있을 뿐, 장애아동 어머니의 상호작용 행동의 일반화된 변화에 대해서는 거의 연구를 수행하고 있지 않다.본 연구는 어머니 행동평정척도를 활용하여 어머니 매개 환경중심 언어중재 연구에 참여한 전반적인 발달장애아동 어머니의 상호작용 형태에 있어서 어떠한 긍정적인 일반화 효과(반응 일반화)가 나타나는지 분석하여 보았다. 4명의 전반적인 발달장애아동과 어머니들이 본 연구의 대상으로 참여하였으며, 어머니 행동평정척도 내 12개의 어머니 상호작용 행동을 기초선-중재로 나누어 비교분석하였다.평정척도의 기초선-중재 평균을 비교한 결과, 전반적인 어머니 상호작용 행동의 형태에 있어서 긍정적인 변화가 발견되었다. 어머니 매개 환경중심 언어중재를 습득한 후, 어머니들은 자신의 아동에게 더욱 긍정적인 감정과 성취행동, 민감한 반응을 보였으며, 덜 지시적으로 반응하였다. 이와 같은 결과를 바탕으로 전반적인 발달장애아동을 위한 어머니 매개 조기중재 프로그램의 교육적인 내용을 구안하는데 실제적인 시사점을 제공할 수 있었다.
Abstract
The present study was designed to investigate the generalized changes in interactive behaviors of mothers of preschool children with pervasive developmental disorders (PDD) who participated in an experimental study examining the effects of a parent-implemented Enhanced Milieu Teaching. Four children with PDD and their mothers were participated in this study. The comparison of baseline and intervention scores on 12 maternal behavior subscales of the Maternal Behavior Rating Scale was employed. Results indicated that there were positive changes in overall maternal interactive behaviors during baseline and intervention sessions using the global rating approach. In particular, mothers of children with PDD exhibited more frequent positive affect, responsiveness, and achievement behaviors and displayed less directive behaviors toward their children. The results might be interpreted that mothers of children with PDD acquired positive and optimal features of maternal interactive behaviors. These findings of the present study provide practical implications to develop the contents of parent-implemented early intervention programs for young children with PDD.
