이중언어환경 아동과 단일언어환경 아동의 연음규칙 인식능력 비교

이 연구의 목적은 이중언어환경 아동과 단일언어환경 아동의 읽기과제 수행 시 연음규칙에 대한 인식능력을 알아보고, 이를 바탕으로 이중언어환경 아동을 위한 연음규칙 인식능력 향상을 위한 중재 프로그램을 개발하는데 주된 목적이 있다. 연구 대상은 언어발달 수준이 7세 이상 9세 미만으로 필리핀인 어머니를 둔 이중언어환경 아동 10명과 단일언어환경 아동 10명이었다. 연음규칙 인식능력 수준 검사는 연음규칙이 적용된 독립단어 40개와 문장내 단어 40개를 제시하고, 이를 읽도록 하여 측정하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 독립단어 수준에서 두 집단 간에 유의한 차이가 있었다. 둘째, 문장내 단어 수준에서 두 집단 간에 유의한 차이가 있었다. 셋째, 동일집단에 있는 이중언어환경 아동이라도 어머니의 교육수준, 한국어 교육 및 사용능력 정도, 한국 거주기간 및 부모의 직업과 소득 등에 따라 언어발달 수준이 다를 수 있으므로 아동의 환경적 특성을 좀 더 세밀하게 고려한 질적인 연구가 필요하다고 생각되며 이중언어환경 아동집단과 단일언어환경 아동집단의 대상자의 표집수를 확대하여 보다 명확한 결론을 내릴 것을 제언한다. 단일언어환경 아동에 비해 연음규칙 인식능력이 낮은 이중언어환경 아동을 고려하여 언어중재 시 연음규칙의 원리를 습득할 수 있는 중재 프로그램을 개발해야 할 것이다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to find the understanding of prolonged sound rule between bilingual language environment children and monolingual language environment children in the reading tasks and to make intervention program for improvement of bilingual language environment children in understanding of prolonged sound rule. The subjects awere 10 bilingual language environment children from 7 to 9 years old who have philippine mother and 10 monolingual language environment children from 7 to 9 years old who have korean mother. The experiment of understanding of prolonged sound rule was performed by presenting 40 independent words and 40 words in a sentence prolonged sound available to children and making them read these words. The following were the results of this experiment. First, in the independent words the score of bilingual language environment children group was lower significantly compared to score of monolingual language environment children group. Second, in the words within a sentence the score of bilingual language environment children group was also lower significantly compared to score of monolingual language environment children group. Considering the low understanding of prolonged sound rule of bilingual language environment children, a intervention program which could enable them to learn principles of prolonged sound rule must be invented.
