본 사례연구는 비지시적 미술치료 프로그램이 자폐 아동의 여러 영역의 발달에 어떤 영향을 미치는지를 알아보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 자폐 아동 1명을 대상으로 약 9개월 동안 초기, 중기, 후기를 구분하여 회기 당 50분씩 총 58회기의 미술치료 프로그램을 실시한 후 사전 및 사후를 비교 평가하였다. 즉 행동, 표현활동, 언어, 대인관계 등 여러 영역의 발달 변화를 검사를 통해 그 수준을 알아보았고 또한 부모 관찰 내용을 회기별로 질적인 분석을 하였다.그 결과 아동의 행동영역에서는 자발적 활동, 주의집중, 자발적 모방 등이, 표현활동에서는 식별 활동, 읽기 능력 등이, 언어영역에서는 이해능력, 표현능력 등이, 그리고 대인관계 영역에서는 부모와의 관계, 어른과의 관계 등이 개선된 것으로 나타났다. 이는 비지시적 미술치료 프로그램이 자폐 아동의 여러 영역의 발달에 전반적으로 긍정적 영향을 미친다는 것을 시사한다.
Abstract
This case study was executed to see the efficacy of nondirective art therapy program in the development of autistic child. With a detailed survey on a severe autistic child, using E-CLAC(Ewha-Check List for Autistic Children), the influence of art therapy has been examined and analyzed in four categories of behavior, expressive activity, language, and interpersonal relationship. The results show remarkable improvements in the development in all four categories. In the domain of behavior, uniform improvements of voluntary activity, concentration, voluntary imitations and directed imitations have been observed in quantitative as well as in quality. In the domain of expressive activity, discriminative ability, drawing ability, and reading ability have been improved and especially the figure painting and writing ability has been eminently advanced. In the domain of language, the intensification of comprehension ability and expression ability has been observed, and the consequential improvement in communication has been achieved. Finally in the domain of interpersonal relationship, the improvements of parental relationship, sibling relationship, and adult relationship have been observed. The case study shows that nondirective art therapy program is effective for improving its development as described above.
