발달장애대학생 지원체계에 대한 질적 탐색: 현황과 개선 방안 요구를 중심으로

[목적] 본 연구는 발달장애대학생의 대학생활 경험과 지원체계의 운영 실태를 탐색하고 그 과정에서 드러나는문제점을 중심으로 개선 요구를 탐색하는 데 목적이 있다. [방법] 경상지역 소재의 D대학의 발달장애대학생5명, 교육지원인력 5명, 장애학생지원센터 담당자 2명을 대상으로 반구조화된 심층면담을 실시하였으며, 포괄적 분석 절차에 따라 질적 분석을 수행하였다. [결과] 첫째, 발달장애대학생과 교육지원인력 간의 상호작용은 단순한 과업 수행을 넘어 정서적 교류와 상호성장의 관계로 기능하였다. 둘째, 정보 공유 부족과 중재 구조의 부재, 역할 경계의 불명확함 등은 지원 주체 간 갈등과 오해를 심화시키며 관계 단절로 이어지는 구조적 한계로 작용하였다. 셋째, 성공적인 지원체계 구축을 위해서는 장애 인식 개선, 교육지원인력의 전문성 강화, 정성 중심의 평가 체계 마련, 자기결정권 보장을 위한 참여 기반 확보가 필요하다. [결론] 본 연구는 발달장애대학생을 효과적으로 지원하기 위해 제도적 정비와 대학 구성원의 인식 전환이 병행되어야 함을 시사한다.
Abstract
[Purpose] This study explored the university-life experiences of students with developmental disabilities and critically evaluates the effectiveness of existing institutional support systems to pinpoint areas for improvement. [Methods] Using in-depth, semi-structured interviews, data were collected from five students with developmental disabilities, five educational support staff, and two staff members from the Disability Support Center at D University in Gyeongsang region. The transcripts were subjected to a systematic, integrative qualitative analysis. [Results] First, the interaction between college students with developmental disabilities and educational support personnel has been a relationship between emotional exchange and mutual growth beyond simple task performance. Second, the lack of information sharing, the absence of intervention structure, and the unclear role boundaries faced conflicts and misunderstandings among the supporting subjects, and acted as a structural limit that leads to relationships. Third, in order to establish a successful support system, it is necessary to secure a foundation for participation in improving the perception of disability, strengthening the expertise of educational support personnel, establishing a qualitative evaluation system, and guaranteeing the right to self -determination. [Conclusion] This study suggests that institutional maintenance and the change of awareness of university members should be combined to effectively support college students with developmental disabilities.
