초록

기독교 신앙은 성경이 하나님의 말씀으로서 기독교의 모든 진리와 규범의준거가 됨을 고백한다. 그러나 ‘성경이 하나님의 말씀’이라고 정의할 때, 그권위와 이해에서 다양한 견해들이 존재한다. 로마 가톨릭과 개신교가, 개신교의 다양한 교회들이 서로 성경이해에서 견해를 달리한다. 이러한 성경의 권위와 해석의 문제가 신학의 역사에서 신학의 중요한주제로 자리매김 하게 된 것은 종교개혁에 이르러서이다. 종교개혁자들은특히나 중세의 성경이해를 비판해 왔고, 트리엔트 공의회에서 제기된 성경이해에 대하여 개신교 진영은 많은 비판을 제기해 왔다. 그러나 트리엔트의 성경이해가 앞선 시대의 성경이해의 표준이 될 수는없다. 수많은 교부들과 중세의 신학자들이 성경에 대하여 연구하고 성경에대한 권위를 인정했다. 본고에서는 그 대표적인 예로서 토마스 아퀴나스의성경에 대한 이해와 해석을 살펴보고자 한다. 13세기의 토마스가 얼마큼 성경에 친숙했는지를 삶의 형태에서 살펴본다. 그는 성경의 근면하게 탐구하는 도미니쿠스 수도회의 구성원이며, 수도회의 ‘상임 설교자’(predicator generalis)로서 성경을 연구하고 설교하는 수도사였다. 동시에 토마스는 ‘성경을 가르치는 교사’(a magister in sacra pagina) 로서 평생 성경을 교육하는 교사였다. 따라서 토마스가 처음 교사로 취임하던 시기에 성경에 관한 자신의 견해를 드러낸 토론문제(Quodlibet 6)와, 신학대전을 통해 그의 성경이해를 고찰해 본다. 나아가 토마스가 보여주는 마태복음 주석의 실례를 통해 토마스의 성경이해가 오늘날 성경이해와 어느 정도 간극을 지니는지 고찰한다. 이러한 고찰을 통해서 토마스의 성경 이해는전통적인 성경이해와 주석에서 개신교도가 수용할 만한 교부들과의 연속선상에 있다.

Abstract

The Christian faith confesses that the Bible as the Word of God is basis of all Christian truths and norms However, when it is defined as ‘the Bible is the Word of God’, there are different views in the prestigious and understanding of the Bible. Roman Catholics and Protestants, and various Protestant churches have different views on the Bible and understand each other. The matter of authority and interpretation of these Scriptures became one of the major themes in the Reformation theology. Reformers have been particularly criticized the biblical understanding of the Middle Ages, therefore the understanding of the Bible in the Council of Trient has raised a lot of criticism However, the understanding of the Bible in Trent can not be the standard of the previous era. Numerous Fathers and theologians of the Middle Ages they were eagerly studied the Bible and have accepted the authority of the Bible. This paper the understanding and interpretation of the Bible of Thomas Aquinas as a prime example before the Reformation. To achieve this, Thomas might be revealed in the form of life how he was familiar with the Bible. He was a member of the Dominican Order to explore the Bible diligently, and a ‘Standing Preacher’(predicator generalis) of the Order who studied the Bible as a monk and was preaching. At the same time, as Thomas was a ‘teacher to teach the Bible’ (a magister in sacra pagina), he was teaching the Bible through his lifelong Futhermore, when he became a teacher, Thomas revealed his views on the Bible in Quodlibet 6 for the first time and in his Summa Theologica after about 10 years. These will be also considered. Further the understanding of the Bible with Thomas’ evangelium Matthaei lectura as a example will be considered. According to the result, Thomas’ biblical understanding is on a continuum with a grant worth Protestant accepted in the traditional biblical understanding and exegeses
