초록

종교개혁 전통의 ‘성서 원리’를 고수하는 개신교 신학은 성서를 신학의 제1자료로 삼는다. 하지만 성서의 권위(auctoritas)를 중시하는 개신교 신학은 18세기 계몽주의를 거치면서 구(舊)프로테스탄트 신학에서 강조하던 축자영감설을 고집하는 것이 어렵게 되었다. 이후 역사비평으로 인해 성서 본문의 시대적 상황과 해석자의 시대적 상황 사이에 거대한 시간적 간격이 존재함을 깊이 인식하며, 성서 본문들이 주변의 종교적 상황과 전승에 영향을 받았다는 사실도 알려졌다. 이러한 신학사적 전개 과정을 거쳐 성서 본문에 대한 교리적 해석을 넘 어선 다양한 해석학적 접근이 오늘날 시도되고 있는 가운데, 자명하게 전제되었던 성서 원리와 성서이해는 문제시되어, 이제 새롭게 정립되고 해명되어야 할 과제가 되었다. 본 논문은 성서에 대한 기초신학적 접근을 통해 오늘날 그리스도교 신학에서 성서가 갖는 위상과 의미를 되짚어보고, 성서가 하나님 말씀이라는 신학적 주장의 근거는 현대신학에서 어떻게 정초될 수 있는지를 묻고자 한다.

Abstract

Protestant theology, which adheres to the ‘biblical principle’ of the Reformation tradition, uses the Bible as its primary source of theology. However, Protestant theology, which emphasizes the authority of the Scripture, went through the Enlightenment in the 18th century, making it difficult to adhere to the literal inspiration theory emphasized in the Protestant Orthodoxy. Deeply recognizing that there is a huge temporal and cultural gap between the historical context of the biblical texts and the interpreter, it was also known that the biblical texts were influenced by the surrounding religious contexts and traditions. Through this theological-historical development, various herme- neutic approaches beyond doctrinal interpretation of the Bible texts are being attempted today and the self-evidently presupposed biblical principle and understanding of the Bible have become problematic and a task that needs to be established and elucidated anew. This thesis examines the status and meaning of the Bible in today's Christian theology and asks how the theological claim that the Bible is the Word of God can be grounded in contem- porary theology.
