성경은 인간은 하나님의 형상으로 창조되었다고 말한다. 이 성경 말씀은 신 학에서 인간을 이해하는 가장 중요한 요소이다. 신학에서는 하나님의 형상 에서 인간의 본질과 인간이 하나님과 맺고 있는 관계성을 드러내었다. 하나 님의 형상이 인간의 존재론적이며, 관계론적 측면을 드러내는 것으로 탐구 되어 왔다. 하나님의 형상에서 인간 창조의 목적을 상고해 내려는 시도들은 역사를 통 해 계속되었다. 이러한 목적을 위해 많은 신학자는 imago와 similitudo의 구분 에서 창조의 형상과 영광의 형상을 추론해 왔다. 그러나 이러한 논의는 성경 의 근거와 언어적 근거에 의해 개혁주의 신학에서는 거절되었다. 또한 하나님의 형상을 각 구속사적 단계에 맞추어 사유하는 시도도 있었다. 이러한 시도에서 창조의 형상, 재창조의 형상 그리고 영광의 형상이라는 단 계가 제시되었다. 이러한 제시는 인간의 목적이 무엇인지 분명히 하고, 현재 를 살아가는 인간의 역동성과 하나님과 인간이 맺고 있는 관계를 잘 드러내 고 있다. 토마스 아퀴나스에게서 이러한 시도는 꽤 설득력있게 전개되었다.
Abstract
The Bible says that humans were created in the image of God. This biblical text is the most important element in understanding of human beings in theology. In theology, the image of God revealed the essence of man and the relationship between man and God. The image of God has been explored as revealing the ontological and relational aspects of human beings. Attempts to contemplate the purpose of human creation in God’s image have continued throughout history. For this purpose, many theologians have deduced the image of creation and the image of glory from the distinction between imago and similitudo. However, this distinction was rejected in Reformed theology on the basis of biblical and linguistic grounds. There was also an attempt to think about the image of God according to each stage of the redemptive history. In this attempt, the steps of the image of creation, the image of re-creation, and the image of glory were presented. This distinction makes it clear what the purpose of man is, and reveals well the dynamism of man living here and now and the relationship between God and man. In Thomas Aquinas, this attempt unfolded quite convincingly.
