Abstract

The purpose of this study is to provide basic information necessary for the future securement and establishment of school facility building and land aquisition for Gyeonggi Province by examining trends and current status of the province's related policies. In this study, the school demand-supply system is reviewed in terms of the decision-making process, progress, and accomplishment and then the proposition for its promotion is suggested as well. This study proposes, first of all, that under the educational autonomy system having an independent education committee and educational superintendent, responsibility of the local government should be one of the most important factors in developing policy alternatives for local school demand-supply system and so the educational autonomy system should be implemented and work together with the cooperation of local government. This study also proposes that, to improve the school facility building and land aquisition system, the more reasonable scheme for school land aquisition and the distribution of expenses for school facilities and the land is needed as a way of dealing with regional factors.
