Abstract

This study was conducted to review the efficiency and effectiveness related to introducing an electronic protector, which is the main concern of the Taekwondo society. However, the introduction of an electronic protector aims to settle the distrust of the decision made by judges and to secure the fairness. Thus, the purpose of this study is to search for the improvements by suggesting the strategy to run games after the introduction of an electronic protector and review the problems. For this, 6 players, who participated in the games for university students in 88th National Athletics and were awarded, were selected. The results of the research using the quality researches are as follows. When players attend games with protectors on, the problems are that it is difficult to give full play due to the inconvenience resulting from wearing a electronic protector and to run games as the marks are obtained similarly to a general protector. Thus, it is necessary to gradually complement the technologies by reducing the weight of the electronic protector so that players can not feel any convenience while weaning it and thus, by changing the location of the sensors for body and foot-instep protectors. In addition, as the Taekwondo association lacks in the regulations related an electronic protector, it should newly establish the regulations according to the strength by obtained marks, which meets objective and scientific standards. The core hitting - area for obtaining marks when players wear electronic protectors related to running games is the abdomen part. Thus, it is required to change strategies so that players can attack or defence the abdomen area using their front feet in a battle position and to introduce the training strategies that can improve the exactness during kicking. Lastly, in case of the electronic protector introduced as part of maintaining Taekwondo to be one of items in Olympic Games and 'of making it a scientific game, there were trials and errors. However, there must have been a positive aspect to settle the distrust of judge's decision and to secure the fairness.
