Abstract

Given recognition that everyday life is a sphere where a body is alive by itself, this study views the subject of existence as body itself and attempts to figure out the value of ‘body in everyday life.’ In doing so, the study seeks to understand the meaning of dancing, a connection between everyday life and arts, and eventually attempts to examine a possibility of perceiving dancing reflected by a body in everyday life. As for results, first of all, understanding a body as everyday life existence is to see everyday life with views of a body itself as a subject. Secondly, ‘a body in everyday life’ perceives its existence as a subject that conducts the biological practice by itself through its unique process of perception. When we reach this perception, it becomes possible to realize subjective participation into a segregated part of body. Through such experience of everyday life, sometimes it can be anxiety or delight, we can realize that a body is alive and perceive its desire for survival. Third, a dancing created by a body in everyday life leads to ‘new understanding of the life. ‘A body of everyday life’that experienced the subjective participation into a segregated part of body can enjoy dancing with freedom since it becomes a sphere under which it can freely realize itself and its biological power. In short, it is ‘arts of everyday life’ with a dynamic energy. Everyday life is a stage not only for our lives but also for arts. A starting point of this multiple performance is our body in everyday life.
