The purpose of this study is to analyze the energy security and energy cooperation of Latin America. Therefore this study apply political an economical frame for the efficient analysis and prospect of the energy security in the region. This study is composed of as follows. Firstly, it deals with the political analysis of the energy security in the international society. It analyses from the traditional significance to the change in our time about the energy security. Secondly, this study approaches the energy security at the aspects of emergence of giant consumer, unstable supply of petroleum, resource nationalism and unstability of the transport route. It also deals with the importance of Latin America and pipeline of energy in the view of energy security. Thirdly, this study analyses the energy security and energy cooperation of Latin America by times. To support this analysis it devide the period in two: before the 2000, after the 2000. From the 2000, Latin America started on the energy security and energy cooperation.
