정신건강관리 프로그램 개발을 위한 보육교사의 인식 및 요구 분석

초록

보육교사의 정신건강은 영유아의 건강한 성장과 발달에 유의미한 영향을 주기 때문에 지속적인 관리가 필요하다. 이에 본 연구는 정신건강 관리 프로그램 개발을 위한 보육교사의 경험, 인식 및 요구를 살펴보는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 C, M, K시에 근무하는 보육교사 227명을 대상으로 설문조사하였다. 그 결과 첫째, 보육교사는 직무 시 신체적⋅심리적 증상과 직무스트레스를 경험하고 있었다. 또한, 직무스트레스는 동료와의 대화를 통해 해결하고, 시간 부족으로 정신건강 관리 프로그램에 참여하지 못하는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 보육교사는 정신건강 관리에 대한 관심과 필요성을 높게 지각하였다. 보조인력 지원이 가장 필요하며, 영유아와의 긍정적인 관계 및 상호작용을 위해 프로그램이 필요하다고 인식하였다. 셋째, 보육교사는 시간적 부담감이 예측되나 업무 조율 및 대안 마련, 정서적 건강, 여가활동 등 현실적 여건을 고려한 실행방안을 요구하였다. 이에 본 연구는 보육교사의 정신건강 관리 프로그램 개발에 대한 기초자료와 시사점을 제공하였다.

Abstract

The mental health of childcare teachers exerts a significant impact on the healthy growth and development of infants and young children. Therefore, continuous management in this regard is required. This study aims to investigate the experiences, perceptions, and needs of childcare teachers concerning the development of mental health care programs. Accordingly, a questionnaire was distributed to 227 childcare teachers working in Cities C, M, and K. The results revealed that childcare teachers were experiencing physical and psychological symptoms and job stress in the workplace. Job stress was relieved through conversation with colleagues. However, teachers were unable to participate in mental health care programs owing to lack of time . Second, childcare teachers perceived the high interest and necessity for mental health care programs. Their responses reported the need for support from assistants as the most important one and that such programs are necessary owing to their relationship and interaction with infants and young children. Third, childcare teachers expressed that they felt pressured about time. As such, they requested that such programs consider realistic conditions, such as work coordination and alternative preparation, emotional health, and leisure activities. In conclusion, the current study provided basic data and implications for the development of mental health care programs for childcare teachers.
