본 연구는 ｢흥부전｣의 패러디동화를 중심으로 작가의 서술 전략과 의도를 분석하고, 이를 통해 패러디적 가치와 효과를 고찰하는 데 목적이 있다. 분석 대상은 임정진의 ｢부자가 된 게으름뱅이 흥부｣와 이송현의 나는 황태자, 놀부 마누라올시다!로, 두 작품은 원작의 서사를 변주하여 새로운 시각을 제시하였다. 임정진은 흥부 아내의 주체적 역할을 강화하여 게으른 흥부의 태도 변화를 이끌고자 했으며, 이송현은 놀부 아내의 관점을 통해 가부장적인 흥부의 태도를 비판적으로 재해석하였다. 연구 결과, 두 작품의 서사적 변주는 시대적 사회 인식의 차이를 반영하고, 전통적 가치관과 현대적 가치관의 대조를 통해 비판적 독서를 가능하게 하였다. 또한 익숙한 서사를 현대적으로 재구성함으로써 원작의 의미를 확장하고, 한국아동문학에서 패러디 장르의 정착에 기여하였다. 본 연구는 향후 아동문학 분야에서 패러디 문학의 확장 가능성을 모색하는 기초 자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.
Abstract
This study examines the narrative strategies and authorial intentions found in parody fairy tales based on Heungbu-jeon, focusing on their parodic values and effects. The primary texts analyzed are Im Jeong-jin’s Heungbu the Lazy Man Who Became Rich and Lee Song-hyun’s I Am the Crown Prince, Nolbu’s Wife!. Both works reinterpret the original narrative to offer new perspectives: Im Jeong-jin emphasizes the agency of Heungbu’s wife to motivate a transformation in Heungbu’s indolent character, while Lee Song-hyun critically reconfigures the story from Nolbu’s wife’s viewpoint to challenge Heungbu’s patriarchal attitude. The results reveal that the narrative variations in these two works reflect changing social perceptions across different periods, facilitating critical reading through the contrast between traditional and modern values. By reconstructing a familiar narrative in a contemporary context, these parodies extend the meaning of the original text and contribute to the establishment of the parody genre within Korean children’s literature. This study thus provides a foundational basis for exploring further possibilities of parody in future children’s literature research.
