강릉단오제 단오굿 중 ‘심청굿’의 연희성 연구

이 연구는 강릉단오제에서 행해지는 단오굿 중 ‘심청굿’의 공연예술적 측면에 주목하여 심청굿의 연희성을 집중적으로 분석하여 심청굿의 연행이 강릉단오굿에서 차지하는 의미와 위상을 파악하는 데 목적이 있다. 이러한 연구 목적 달성을 위해 이 연구는 연희성을 ‘굿의 연희적 요소들과 그것의 공연예술적 효과를 포괄하는 것’으로 개념정의를 한 뒤 이에 따라 연희적 요소를 사설, 춤사위, 음악․장단, 공간, 재담․관객참여의 5가지로 분류해 분석 틀로 삼고, 2019년 강릉단오제에서 행해진 심청굿을 주요 분석 대상으로 삼아 분석을 실시하였다. 이 연구의 분석 결과 강릉단오제의 심청굿의 연희성은 다음과 같이 4가지 위상과 의미를 갖는 것으로 파악됐다. 첫째, 단오굿에서 심청굿의 공연 가치와 위상을 파악한 결과 심청굿 공연의 핵심적 가치는 대중지향성에 있다는 점을 확인할 수 있었다. 둘째, 심청굿은 사설의 현대적 해석을 통해 사회적 병폐를 개선하려는 희망을 부각시키는 특성을 지니고 있었다. 셋째, 심청굿 춤사위의 무용학적 가치를 탐색한 결과 군무 형식의 구조를 띠었고, 동선적 측면이나 주무의춤사위가 다소 단조로운 경향을 띠었다. 넷째, 심청굿의 공연장은 공동체 화합의 장으로 승화되는 곳이었다. 이상의 분석 내용을 토대로 강릉단오제의 심청굿이 연희성 측면에서 더욱 발전해 나가기 위해 필요한 사항을 다음과 같이 2가지로 제언하였다. 첫째, 춤사위의 다양성을 개발 및 보충함으로써 굿에 대한 관객의 심미성을 확장할 수있는 계기를 마련하기를 제안한다. 둘째, 심청굿의 대중지향성을 더욱 강화하기 위한공연 전략의 수립과 실행이 지속되기를 제안한다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to grasp the meaning and status of Simcheong-et's performance in Gangneung Danogut by focusing on the performance art aspect of Simcheong-et among Danogut held at Gangneung Danogut Festival. To achieve this research purpose, this study defined performance as "inclusive of performance elements and their performing arts effects," and classified performance elements into five categories: editorial, dance, music, rhythm, space, jokes, and audience participation. As a result of the analysis of this study, it was found that the performance of Simcheongut in Gangneung Danoje has four statuses and meanings as follows. First, as a result of grasping the performance value and status of Simcheong-et at Danogut, it was confirmed that the core value of Simcheong-et's performance lies in public orientation. Second, Simcheong-et had the characteristic of highlighting the hope of improving social ills through the modern interpretation of the editorial. Third, as a result of exploring the danceological value of Simcheongt dance, the structure of the group dance was taken, and the movement aspect and the dance of the main character tended to be somewhat monotonous. Fourth, the performance hall of Simcheongt was a place that sublimated into a venue for community harmony. Based on the above analysis, the following two matters were suggested for the Gangneung Danoje's Simcheong-et to further develop in terms of performance.
