본 연구의 목적은 사용역에 따라 ‘V-게’와 ‘V-도록’의 변별적인 의미와 용법을 밝히는 데 있다. 이를 위해, 연구문 분석 방법을 기초로 하여, 두 구문의 확장된 어휘 단위를 종합적으로 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 각 구문은 사용역에 따른 핵심 용법에서의 차이점은 없었다. ‘V-게’는 구어와 문어에 상관없이 지시형용사, [정적사태-속성값]의 하위 유형 중 [정도속성값]과 [평가속성값], 긍정과 중립의 양가적 의미 운율을 지니고 있었다. ‘V-도록’도 가능성을 의미하는 ‘있_9_VA’, 동사, [행위-물리적행위-단독행위-결과행위], 중립적 의미 운율을 선호하고 있었다. 하지만 선호하는 연어휘소의 구체적인 목록과 연접범주, 의미 선호, 의미 운율에서 상대적 용법 차이를 발견할 수 있었다. 두 구문은 사용역에 따른 용법 차이는 적었으나, 두 구문 자체는 매우 변별적이었다. 즉, ‘V-게’와 ‘V-도록’은 사전적 의미는 같지만, 전자는 형용사와 [정적사태-속성값-정도속성값], [평가속성값]을, 후자는 동사와 [행위-물리적행위-단독행위-결과행위]를 선호하고 있었다. 의미 운율은 구어에서는 두 구문 모두 중립적이었으나, 문어에서는 ‘V-게’는 긍정과 중립의 양가적 의미 운율, ‘V-도록’은 중립적인 의미 운율이 선호되었다. 본 연구는 사용역에 따라 ‘V-게’와 ‘V-도록’의 용법 차이가 어떠한지를 다의어 수준에서 구체적으로 밝혔으며, 문법범주부터 의미와 담화 수준까지 분석 범위를 확장하였다는 점에서 의의가 있다.
Abstract
This study aims to clarify the distinctive meanings and usages of ‘-ge’ and ‘-dorok’ based on register. To achieve this, it comprehensively analyzed the extended lexical units of both constructions using the collostructional analysis. First, ‘V-ge’ showed a preference for demonstrative adjectives regardless of whether it appeared in spoken or written registers, and was associated with the sub-types [degree attribute value] and [evaluative attribute value] within [static state-attribute value]. Additionally, it was characterized by positive and neutral semantic prosody. Similarly, ‘V-dorok’ showed no major differences across registers in its preference for verbs, [action-physical action-individual action-resultative action], and neutral semantic prosody. While both constructions showed relatively minor variation according to register, they were highly distinctive from each other. ‘V-ge’ tended to favor adjectives and [static state-attribute value-degree attribute value] and [evaluative attribute value], whereas ‘V-dorok’ preferred verbs and [action-physical action-individual action-resultative action]. Regarding semantic prosody, both constructions exhibited neutral prosody in spoken registers; however, in written registers, ‘V-ge’ showed ambivalent semantic prosody encompassing both positive and neutral tones, while ‘V-dorok’ preferred a neutral prosody.
