Abstract
The study is case study for the effects of small group scientific modeling on global climate change classes in high school students. Based on SSI course, we looked at the characteristics and changing aspects of a high school student's understanding of the nature of science. The results of this study showed that the small group modeling activities changed high school students' understanding of the NOS to a modern epistemological point of view. Especially, from the Empirical aspect of scientific knowledge, the change to the modern point of view was significant. And you can see that the understanding of Tentative, Subjectivity, and Social-cultural elements changes with a modern perspective. Therefore, small-group modeling activities can be a science teaching/learning method that helps to develop students' understanding of the nature of science about a modern point of view, effectively cultivating scientific literacy.
