Abstract
In this study, we developed an experimental device to measure the gravitational acceleration of falling water droplets. The experimental device consists of arduino, solenoid valve, and water pump. By recording video of falling water with the experimental device and a smart phone, we could implement the stroboscopic effect by showing water droplets moving in the gravitational field as still images. Using this still image equivalent to the multiflash photograph, we are able to visualize the parabolic motion of a water droplet and measure the gravitational acceleration of it. Our experimental data is in good agreement with the theoretical value within 3% errors. We also discuss the effect of air resistance on the motion of water droplet.
