존 프레임의 성경관을 중심으로 본 하나님의 말씀으로서의 성경 권위 담론

이 글의 목적은 성경 외에 다른 것이 더 권위 있는 것으로 여겨지는 시대의 한국교회를 위한 적절한 성경 권위 담론을 제시하는 데 있다. 이를 위해 존 프레임의 성경론을 중심으로 살펴볼 것이다. 또한 필자는 프레임의 성경론을 통해 종교개혁의 정신을 계승하는 개혁주의생명신학의 실천적 방향을 모색하고자 한다. 성경의 권위에 대한 이해는 기독교 역사에서 가장 중요한 주제중 하나이다. 종교개혁의 ‘Sola Scriptura’(오직 성경) 교리는 성경만이 최고의 권위임을 주장하여, 성경 외의 다른 권위에 대한 도전에 답한 것이다. 프레임에 따르면 종교개혁의 ‘Sola Scriptura’(오직 성경) 교리는 과거 뿐만 아니라 오늘날에도 적용되어야 한다. 프레임은 이 교리를 신학에 적용한다. 오늘날 신학의 권위가 성경의 권위보다 더 중시되는 상황에 마주했기 때문이다. 프레임에 따르면 신학은 다른 언어를 사용하여 성경 말씀을 가르치는 학문이다. 그러나 신학적 논의가 그 자체로 성경은 아니다. 신학은 성경의 권위 아래에 있다. 그렇다면 성경이 최고 권위를 갖는 이유는 무엇인가? 프레임은 이 질문의 답을 성경 안에에서 발견한다. 성경 안에 하나님은 말씀하시는 분이다. 하나님은 언약의 주님으로서 자신의 백성에게 말씀하신다. 프레임은 성경 안에 나타난 하나님과 하나님의 말씀의 전달, 성경에 대한 의미를 드러내어 성경이 권위 있는 하나님의 말씀임을 보여준다. 프레임에 따르면 신학은 하나님의 말씀인 성경을 신자들의 삶 모든 영역에 적용하는 것이다. 적용으로서의 신학을 강조하는 프레임의 성경론은 신학의 사변화를 반성하고 하나님 말씀에 순종하는 신학으로 돌아가야 한다는 개혁주의생명신학과 신학적 연속성에 있다. 이를 통해 개혁주의생명신학 실천에 대한 논의를 드러내고자 한다.
Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to present an appropriate discourse on the authority of the Bible for the contemporary Korean church, where things other than the Bible are perceived as having more authority. To achieve this, we will examine John Frame's theology of the Bible. Additionally, the author seeks to explore the practical direction of Reformed vital theology, which inherits the spirit of the Protestant Reformation, through Frame's theology of the Bible. Understanding the authority of the Bible is one of the most important topics in Christian history. The doctrine of "Sola Scriptura" (Scripture alone) of the Protestant Reformation asserts that only the Bible holds the highest authority and responds to challenges to authority other than the Bible. According to Frame, the doctrine of "Sola Scriptura" is applicable not only in the past but also today. Frame applies this doctrine to theology because contemporary theology tends to prioritize its authority over that of the Bible. According to Frame, theology is a discipline that teaches the Word of God using different languages, but theological discussions are not the Word of God itself; theology is under the authority of the Bible. So, why does the Bible have the highest authority? Frame finds the answer to this question within the Bible itself. In the Bible, God speaks as the speaker. God speaks to His people as the Lord of the Covenant. Frame reveals the transmission of God's word and the meaning of the Bible to show that the Bible is the authoritative Word of God. According to Frame, theology is the application of the Word of God, the Bible, to all aspects of believers' lives. Frame's theology of applying theology as a practical aspect emphasizes reflecting on the transformation of theology and returning to theology that obeys God's word. It lies in Reformed vital theology and theological continuity. Through this, the author aims to reveal the discussion on the practice of Reformed vital theology.
