신학대학원의 교육 목적은 영혼 구원과 복음 전파의 사명을 감당할 목회자를 배출하는 데 있다. 목회자는 영적 지도자로서 일반 신자들보다 높은 수준의 경건이 요구되며 하나님의 부르심에 따라 자신에게 맡겨진 사명을 감당하겠다는 서약으로 사역을 출발한다. 목회자가 갖추어야 할 덕목에 지성과 더불어 인성과 영성까지 포함된다는 점에서 신학교육은 단순히 학문적인 지식을 전수하는 데 그쳐서는 안 된다. 신학교육은 반드시 세속을 경계하고 하나님의 말씀대로 살아가는 인성, 즉 세상의 윤리나 도덕보다 우위에 있는 사람됨 을 전제해야 한다 또한 영적 지도자로 서 갖추어야 할 경건은 기도와 말씀에 충실함으로 얻을 수 있는 성령 충만에서 비롯되기에 신대원의 교육 역시 예비 목회자들의 경건에 초점을 맞추어야 한다. 이러한 교육의 실현을 위해서는 신대원에 재학 중인 신학대학원생들이 어떠한 생각을 가지고 있는가를 분명하게 파악하는 것이 중요하다. 신대원 모집에 어려움을 겪는 현실 속에서 현재 신대원의 주요 구성원은 어떻게 되어 있으며, 이들의 도덕성과 윤리의식, 신앙의 경건 등이 잘 교육되고 있는지를 판단하는 것은 신학교육의 새로운 지평을 열어가는 기초자료가 된다. 급속한 시대의 변화에도 절대 바뀌어선 안 되는 가치가 바로성경이고, 나아가 성경의 가르침대로 살아야 할 그리스도인의 삶의 자세다. 그중에서도 목회자로 부름 받은 신대원생들의 의식과 목회 사역에 대한 태도, 그를 바탕으로 한 신앙과 경건의 교육이 제대로 이루어질 때 한국교회는 새로운 부흥의 전기를 맞이할 수 있을 것이다.
Abstract
The purpose of education in theological seminaries is to save souls and spread the gospel. It is also to produce pastors who can fulfill this mission. As spiritual leaders, pastors are required to have a higher level of piety than ordinary believers. This is because they begin their ministry with a pledge to fulfill the mission entrusted to them according to God's calling. The virtues that a pastor must possess include not only intelligence but also character and spirituality. Therefore, theological education should not be limited to simply imparting academic knowledge. Theological education must teach humanity that is wary of the world and lives according to the Word of God. It presupposes a ‘humanity’ that is higher than the ethics or morals of the world. In addition, the piety that a spiritual leader must have begins with prayer and the Word. The education of theological schools must also focus on the piety of prospective pastors. In order to realize this kind of education, it is important to clearly understand what students attending the seminary think. In the current reality where it is difficult to recruit students, we need to know what the main members of the current theological seminary are. We need to determine whether students' morality, ethical awareness, and religious piety are being educated. This research data will serve as basic data for opening a new horizon in theological education. The Bible is the value that must never change even in the midst of rapid changes in the times. Furthermore, Christians must live according to the teachings of the Bible. Among these, it is important to understand the consciousness and attitude toward ministry of students in theological seminaries who have been called to be pastors. When education in faith and piety is properly provided in theological seminaries, the Korean church will be able to experience a new revival.
