본 연구는 우쿨렐레 비교과 활동이 예비유아교사의 음악교수효능감에 어떠한 변화가 나타나는지 탐색하고, 경험의 의미를 분석하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 연구는 충청도 소재 ‘가’ 대학교 유아교육과 3학년 12명을 대상으로 하였으며, 6명은 실험집단, 6명은 통제집단으로 배치하였다. 실험집단에게 7주간 우쿨렐레 비교과 활동을 실시한 후, 실험집단과 통제집단 모두에게 사전⋅사후 음악교수효능감 검사를 실시하였다. 변화 분석은 비모수통계 방법을 사용하여 수행하였다. 분석 결과, 실험집단은 음악교수효능감 전체 점수와 음악교수 결과기대감 요인에서 통계적으로 유의한 향상을 보였다. 또한 소감문에 대한 질적 분석에서 참여자들은 연주 경험을 통해 자신감을 얻었으며, 우쿨렐레를 활용한 음악 활동을 교육현장에 적용하고자 하는 실천 의지를 나타냈다. 연구참여자 중 일부 예비유아교사는 음악을 개인적 취미로 지속해 보고 싶다는 긍정적 정서 변화를 보고하였다. 이러한 결과는 짧은 기간의 비교과 활동이라 하더라도 학습자의 자율성과 실기 중심 경험이 결합될 때, 예비유아교사의 음악교수효능감을 향상시키는 데 의미있는 교육적 가능성이 있음을 보여준다.
Abstract
This study aimed to investigate the changes in pre-service early childhood teachers’ music teaching efficacy following participation in ukulele extracurricular activities and to analyze the educational meanings of those experiences. The participants were twelve third-year early childhood education majors at ‘A’ University in Chungcheong Province, assigned to an experimental group (n=6) and a control group (n=6). Following the seven-week ukulele extracurricular activities for the experimental group, both the experimental and control groups completed pre-test and post-test of music teaching efficacy. Non-parametric statistical methods were used to analyze changes. Results indicated that the experimental group showed significant improvement in overall music teaching efficacy and in outcome expectancy. Qualitative analysis of reflection journals revealed that participants gained confidence through playing the ukulele and expressed a willingness to apply ukulele-based music activities in future teaching. Some participants also reported positive emotional changes, including a desire to continue music activities as a personal hobby. These results suggest that even short-term extracurricular activities, when combined with learner autonomy and hands-on musical experiences, can offer meaningful educational potential for enhancing pre-service early childhood teachers’ music teaching efficacy.
