지체장애 학생의 인구학적 특성, 스트레스 요인, 개인내 심리적 요인, 사회환경적 요인의 우울에 대한 효과

연구목적: 본 연구는 지체장애 학생을 대상으로 인구학적 특성(성별, 학교급별, 장애의 심각 성), 스트레스 요인(신체건강, 장애의 일상생활 제한), 개인내 심리적 요인(자존감), 사회환경적 요인(가까이 지내는 사람의 수, 사회적 지지)이 우울에 미치는 효과를 알아보았다. 연구방법: 본 연구는 연구목적을 달성하기 위하여 한국장애인개발원에서 추적 조사하고 있는 장애인 삶 패널 의 4차 연도 자료에서 지체장애가 있는 학생(58명)의 데이터를 추출하여 사용하였다. 본 연구는 상관관계와 중다회귀분석으로 인구학적 특성, 스트레스 요인, 개인내 심리적 요인, 사회환경적 요인이 우울에 미치는 효과를 알아보았다. 연구결과: 첫째, 지체장애 학생의 인구학적 특성에서 성별, 학교급별은 우울을 예측하지 못하였고, 장애가 중증일수록 우울이 높았다. 둘째, 지체장애 학생의 스트레스 요인에서 신체건강이 좋지 않을수록 우울이 높았고, 장애의 일상생활 제한은 우울을 예측하지 못하였다. 셋째, 지체장애 학생의 개인내 심리적 요인으로서 자존감이 낮을수 록 우울이 높았다. 넷째, 지체장애 학생의 사회환경적 요인에서 가까이 지내는 사람의 수와 사회 적 지지는 우울을 예측하지 못하였다. 결론: 본 연구의 결과에 따르면 지체장애 학생의 장애의 심각성에 주의를 기울이고, 좋지 못한 신체건강과 낮은 자존감 향상을 위한 조력이 우울의 개선 에 도움이 될 수 있다고 제안한다.
Abstract
Purpose: This study investigated the effects of demographic characteristics (i.e., gender, school level, severity of disability), stress factors (i.e., physical health, disability-related limitations), individual psychological factor (i.e., self-esteem), and social environmental factors (i.e., number of close acquaintances, social support) on depression in students with physical disabilities. Method: This study utilized data from the fourth wave of Disability and Life Dynamics Panel Data, a longitudinal study conducted by the Korea Disabled People’s Development Institute in 2019. The data set included 58 students. The effects of demographic characteristics, stress factors, individual psychological factors, and social environmental factors on depression were analyzed using correlation and multiple regression analysis. Results: First, within the demographic characteristics, neither gender nor school level predicted depression; however, more severe disabilities were associated with higher levels of depression. Second, among stress factors, poorer physical health was linked to higher levels of depression, while disability-related limitations did not predict depression. Third, as an individual psychological factor, lower self-esteem was correlated with higher levels of depression. Fourth, within social environmental factors, neither the number of close acquaintances nor social support predicted depression. Conclusion: Based on these results, this study recommens considering the severity of disabilities and providing support for physical health and low self-esteem to reduce depression in students with physical disabilities.
